Wedding and Function Venue
Dulong, Sunshine Coast Hinterland
Project Scope: Direct the material change of use and approval process for a boutique hinterland wedding venue’s expansion on a 65-hectare rural allotment, to integrate a chapel, function centre, and short-term accommodation.
Client: Sweet Meadows
Project Duration: 2025
Sweet Meadows in Dulong is set to expand its existing boutique wedding venue, with Murray & Associates guiding a material change of use application to enhance the property’s event offerings. Set on a 65.55-hectare rural allotment, the proposal builds on the venue’s established hinterland charm by introducing a small chapel, a two-storey function building and short-term accommodation, creating a more complete and flexible event destination.
The expanded facilities include a dining and reception space, dance floor, stage, bar, commercial kitchen and amenities, with four ensuite bedrooms above and 38 on-site parking spaces. Designed to sit comfortably within the rural landscape, the buildings remain under 8.5 metres in height and are positioned to maintain privacy and amenity for surrounding properties. This project reflects Murray and Associates’ commitment to delivering high quality, place responsive developments that balance landowner aspirations while ensuring ongoing compatibility with the character of the locality.
