Ian, our Principal Consulting Surveyor, with full Survey Accreditation status, is an expert negotiator with State Government, Local Authorities and landholders, with his surveying experience extending throughout Queensland to Indonesia. His close affiliation with District Surveyors ensures our plan production processes achieve the highest result.
Commencing with Murray & Associates (Qld) Pty Ltd in 1991, Ian coordinates tender processes, with particular awareness of sensitive land access protocols and landholder liaison to achieve positive outcomes for all parties.

His knowledge of this industry extends from the design phase (Urban and Residential developments), through to major transport and utility infrastructure projects.

A company Director at Murray & Associates since 2007, Blake is a qualified and experienced urban and regional planner on the Sunshine Coast. With over 20 years town planning experience in Queensland, Blake possesses a unique set of consultancy and advocacy skills, developed through the management of local government statutory planning across a broad spectrum of land use and property development projects, policy and strategy development. As Principal Town Planner, Blake has developed a culture amongst his planning team of honesty, integrity and professionalism.


Blake prides himself on establishing excellent working relationships with his clients, industry consultants and key government personnel. Throughout his career, Blake has worked with many of Queensland’s leading property developers, corporates, charities and individuals, negotiating complex approvals and delivering exceptional project outcomes.

With a surveying career at Murray & Associates (Qld) Pty Ltd commencing in 1997, Craig now manages the Caboolture office, which also services Brisbane and environs.
Able to undertake design, planning and project management for all phases of a project, from a small residential development, to a larger infrastructure project, his dynamic approach ensures optimum results.

Craig is mindful of the latest supporting technology and has earned full Survey Accreditation status. With the assistance of his late father and former Director Barry Andrews, he has an unequalled association with his clientele, which ensures a positive outcome in negotiations.

Andrew commenced work at the Emerald Branch of Murray & Associates (QLD) Pty Ltd as a Senior Town Planner in January of 2014 having previously worked on a range of projects throughout the state. Andrew has extensive experience dealing with both the public and private sectors in relation to projects located within rural and urban areas. Andrew has a comprehensive knowledge of the relevant planning legislation in force within Queensland and prides himself in achieving the best results for his Clients.
Andrew is also a registered surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland and has extensive experience working on rural, urban, mining and large scale civil projects. Andrew is committed to providing affordable survey solutions to clients in a timely manner.

The son of JFH (Fred) Murray OBE (founder of Murray & Associates (Qld) Pty Ltd), Mark continues the tradition of surveying which dates back to 1913 when his grandfather, JN Murray, became Licensed. Commencing his surveying career in 1963, Mark oversees all the Central Queensland operations and continues to manage our Emerald branch.
Having gained experience in New Guinea and permanently based in Emerald since 1983, Mark possesses an extensive repertoire and unsurpassed knowledge of all aspects of surveying, particularly in the mining field, as well as attaining full Survey Accreditation status.

Kyle graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2004 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Surveying & Spatial Information Systems) and commenced work at Murray & Associates in December 2008.
Prior to relocating to the Sunshine Coast, Kyle gained experience performing urban and rural surveys in and around Sydney. Kyle has gained extensive experience in completing both urban and rural Cadastral Surveys, Engineering/Construction surveys, dam monitoring surveys and surveys related to coal seam gas infrastructure.

Kyle is predominantly based in our Nambour office and together with his normal field duties assists Director Andrew Campbell in supervising field staff, providing additional training with computer programs and provides assistance with job allocations and client job queries.

Kyle achieved his Cadastral Endorsement with the Surveyors Board of Queensland in September 2014.

Recommencing with Murray & Associates (Qld) Pty Ltd in 1993, Fergus’s association with this company dates back to 1976.
With expertise in seismic surveying within Australia and New Guinea, Fergus now coordinates all field surveys within the Roma district and environs, particularly in the oil and gas exploration industry.

He has a close affiliation with all stakeholders within this industry and maintains protocols as necessary for WHSO, land access, cultural heritage and land management.

A leading field surveyor and Manager of the Chinchilla office, Wayne continues his profession of surveying which initially commenced in 1983 under the direct supervision of JFH (Fred) Murray OBE.
Having gained invaluable experience in the Central Queensland Gemfields and on remote rural long line utility and infrastructure projects, Wayne has developed an affinity for this area of Queensland.

He is renowned for his ability to coordinate surveys to achieve high environmental outcomes, which is of paramount importance within those areas of cultural significance. Wayne is a well respected Surveyor amongst his peers who adheres to WHSO Policies as well as land access protocols, cultural heritage and land management.

With a solid foundation in strategic and statutory planning, Patrick is well positioned to help facilitate practical solutions to complex urban planning problems. Providing a holistic understanding and context to any new planning proposal and project engagement, Patrick has serviced the South East Queensland region at Murray & Associates since 2017. Patrick brings a dedicated skillset in simplifying planning jargon to engage with his clients, translating their values and visions into practical advice and negotiating actionable development outcomes in a timely and cost effective manner. Chris is a Senior Town Planner who has cultivated an exemplary set of skills and knowledge over 10 years of working in the Queensland planning sector. Obtaining his Bachelor of Regional and Urban Planning in 2011 from the University of Sunshine Coast, Chris has since built his expertise through his direct involvement in hundreds of development applications for the purpose of residential, commercial, industrial and rural projects, from high-rise multiple dwellings, large-scale subdivisions to residential reconfiguration of lots and rural holidays cabins. Chris’ proven experience and practical approach has been invaluable in negotiating complex approvals and delivering exceptional project outcomes on the Sunshine Coast and in the Gympie Region whilst at Murray & Associates. His strengths lie in providing expert statutory insight, technical planning assessment and building trust-worthy working relationships with clients.
